Hertz - convertible prices always so high?

I'm renting a car from July 3 to July 7 at RNO. Right now, I have a "sporty 2 door" reserved for $42/day. I was interested in a convertible, but they quoted me at $145/day. Is a convertible always so much more? Any way to get a convertible for cheaper? I am Hertz Gold (live everyone else!).

Thanks.

Tried numerous "angles" to get a cheaper convert in MIA last Dec. I called and so did our travel agency. No dice (although it was peak season there).
Good luck.

Many times when renting a car in TPA, I've been given the option of upgrading to convertibles for $5 more/day. Sometimes there are the "daily specials" that only the Hertz agent putting together your reservation knows about when you pick up the car. That said, it never hurts to ask what the upgrade price might be when you get the car you reserved.
