Hertz - best frequent flyer/hotel point choice?

I recall reading previously that Marriott Rewards is probably one of the better choices for frequent stay program credit associated with a Hertz rental at 500 points a pop. I've been going this route or choosing Southwest credits recently.
Do any of the airlines offer considerably more favorable mileage than others (without the requirement of a flight in conjunction with the rental)?
I'm on track to rent 40-50 times this year, and it would be neat if I could aim towards getting an award of some sort on a carrier I normally wouldn't fly.
Who knows, maybe the Icelandair 'Vildakort' program offers a Fedex reindeer steak pak for 10,000 kms or something...

Qantas awards 700 per rental on rentals

I usually take the Hertz points (ZE1 code). I have racked up over 9000 points in the last year and a half. That's enough for about 3 weeks of car rentals. You can also transfer these over to airlines with a 20% cost (600pts = 500 miles) to top up your acount for awards. Most car rental awards thru air/hotel programs don't ahve much flexibility, so I like this option for saving on car rentals when on vacation.

Most of the time I am renting (cheap) B-Class cars for two or three days, so every program that does not take under consideration the amount of money I spent, fits for me. I am choosing Qualiflyer (eg LX, AA, CX) for crediting my car rentals (500 bonus miles per rental).
You need 15.0000 miles for receiving a 600g "gold box" of assorted pralines from Swiss famous Sprüngli or for one bouquet flowers from Fleurop-Interflora delivered as a surprise to whomever you like. With 50 rentals (= 25.000 bonus miles) you are earning a one way upgrade from Y to C on LX from North America to Europe or vv.

I'v been using Amtrak. You receive 50 points/day and there are sometimes bonuses of twice that. Couple that with using Amtrak for HHonors double-dip and it's relatively easy to get enough points for a RT within any Amtrak region.

500 miles with LH regardless of which airline you are traveling with vs 50 mile on DL.
