Hertz - Gatwick upgrade ?

I am renting a 'standard' car from Gatwick Airport in the next few weeks. I am a Presidents Club member. Does anyone have a feel for whether I will be upgraded and what vehicle I might get ? Does anyone have a similar experience ?

It appears that the next vehicle up is a 'premium'. Is it realistic to assume that I will get this vehicle or better ?

When I rent a Taurus in the US, I almost always get an upgrade to a bigger and sometimes better vehicle.

If you are a Presidents Circle member you will automatically receive a car of the next higher class to that which you booked as is your entitlement (as long as you have made a valid Gold booking). If you have regular #1 Gold, you will not get an upgrade unless they are overbooked and cannot provide the class booked.

What grade do you currently have booked. If the next grade is premium, then thats what you will get. There are some odd upgrades. The upgrade from the group D mondeo is the group F mondeo for example. If you have X booked then you should get a G.

I have booked an X. What cars do they provide at the G level ? The only example on the web site is a Vauxhall Omega. Is there any chance that they will upgrade me higher than a G ? In the US, they sometimes upgrade me to a prestige car (Volvo, Lincoln LS, etc.).

Vauxhall Omega it is. There is little chance of an upgrade beyond that unless the very unlikely situation occurs in that they are overbooked. Gatwick is v good at ensuring you get what you should get.

Have you included your flight details in the reservation? If not, then you may find that the car is waiting for you at the wrong terminal.
