Hertz - Not Allowed Gold Benefits

I am a Hertz customer via the American Bar Association as a law student. The ABA has a deal with Hertz to allow those under 25 to rent with the ABA CDP#.

However, I have been offered twice now the opporunity to get Gold level benefits and can not do so because I am 23. The age requirement is 25. Shouldn't they waive that considering the ABA requirement?

A company I used to work for had a specific contact that you can call if you are under 25 and wanted the gold benefits. So, there is obviously a way, you just need to find it!

Has Hertz actually denied you? I know the paperwork says you must be 25, but with the Amex Platinum card, I was able to get comped Hertz #1 Gold at 23. I just filled out the paperwork and ignored the age problem; soon enough I had the card in hand.

Did you try calling the ABA to clarify this?

I am 24 and have been Gold thanks to my company's contract since I started with them.

I joined when I was 24, though it was a corporate deal. We had many under 25 renters.

Same, I'm under 25 but joined Gold at 21 a few years ago because of my company's affiliation with Hertz.

Right now my affiliation is with the ABA. I am not sure if they provide those benefit for their law student members?

I'm in the same situation as GoCanes, and have always been hesitant to apply for the Gold card--even though Hertz has solicited me directly for fee-waived Gold several times this year (the fee is also waived by going through the ABA).

I tried applying once on-line about six months ago, but the web site automatically rejected my application because of my age. Next time I'll try applying on paper and see if I can slip through. I'll keep you posted.

Just spoke with the ABA and there Member Benefits Dept. and under 25 qualify for the Fee Waived Gold Club Membership. For some reason, apparently Hertz fault, you can not do it online. So they have to snail mail the form out to you and then send it in. So it looks like it will finally happen.
