Any opinions on if I should take this offer or not? Any risks with it? Is it really complimentary? Is it worth joining?

Yes, it will save you a lot of time. Take it if you ever use Hertz.

It is worth having if you rent from Hertz. It'll be complimentary, getting free Hertz #1 Gold is pretty common.

Renting a car without #1 Club Gold (or other company equivalent) is a risk I'm no longer willing to take. Too many bad experiences. There are dozens of ways to get #1 Club Gold for free - take advantage of it.

Is there a special link for signing up for this marriott/hertz program or is it the regular hertz link?
