Budget - Poor reservation system on web site

This has happened to me a few times now on budget.com. I will go through to make my reservation and when I click on the last page to confirm the reservation it takes forever to load and then I get an error stating that Budget is temporarily having a problem with their reservation system. Do other people get this a lot?

I have booked probably 100 reservations through their website and have never had that problem.

I agree with thepla on this. I have had only good luck booking on-line with Budget. In fact, they actually have CSRs who respond promptly to e-mail questions.

I generally have issues with their website too. In order to save myself some hassles, I usually make 2 reservations for the same car and day since only about 50% of the on-line reservations make it to the fast-break desk in EWR. It may have something to do with your particular airport as well - I always rent from ERW.

I also see the same message you get a lot.

I usually rent from various locations around NYC. However, speaking of fastbreak. Have you found it to be reliable at EWR? LGA has been hurrendous on Monday mornings and for most of my associates has been closed or problematic every week.

Yeah - it seems relaible enough - as long as you make 2 reservations on-line for each rental. I'm sure the staff at the EWR location just cancels 1 if they see the dupe (I've never gotten any flack for doing this). If I only make 1 reservation, it makes it to the counter at EWR only about 1/2 the time. I rent there almost weekly and have not had a problem since October with them dropping the reservation.
