I did the same thing, but a cool rep told me how to get around it:

1) On the payment page, first enter your SuperCert and ONLY your SC.
2) When it comes up accepted, enter your C/C AND the promo code at the same time. Your balance will come up as $5.
3) Submit your order, and enjoy!!

That is how I tried it, but to no avail. Have you actually tried the method successfully?

I just tried it again and got the same error message. Help!!!

It is not that you cannot use it with a SuperCertificate, just not a promotional or free one. Sorry guys http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

That is the feedback I have been given.

I guess it was just a fluke for me. I got the gift certificate in the mail today, too!
