Any chanced that a Starwood hotel will give some "bonus" points for booking a wedding reception at one of their facilities??

Weddings may be considered a meeting; and hence, you may qualify for 'meeting planner' points.

ASK!!! And don't take No for an answer. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

And also make sure it is spelled out in writing in the contract.

Be sure your SPG number is in the contract. Points will be awarded after your event is paid in full. After this point,"remind" your contact person to submit the points through this program. I'm a corporate event planner and usually have to call. Some hotels (like Sheraton Univ City in Philly and Sheraton Toronto) were almost automatic in posting the points. Whereas others (Sheraton Buckhead) has yet to post my points after numerous emails and calls. Unfortunately, you won't be able to use these points for your honeymoon since it takes about 4-6 weeks to post (depending on the hotel).
