If you've never been Platinum in SPG before, we have spiff for HHonors Diamonds.

But if you are an SPG Amex Platinum, they will comp you gold on the spot. Simply call Amex and obtain the proper code; then call Starwood and repeat it to them. Worked for me a few weeks ago.

Someone made a mistake then. Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express cardholders get Preferred Plus, not Gold. There is a comp to Gold for real American Express Platinum cardholders, however. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
