Starwood Preferred Guest - Starwood Platinum Awards

What sort of room do you get for using the *wood points? For example I am using a level 5 award and want to know if they will give me teh worst room available or one of teh better ones? I am a Starwood Platinum Member? Any suggestions - shoudl I request an upgrade?

Did you just a comp by any chance? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Just kidding - to answer your question. You are eligible for the same upgrade benfits as if you paid for the room. I've always gotten some of my best rooms of award stays..

I agree with PrivatePilot ... Ive had some amazing rooms with award stays and deplorable ones at paid rates. I look at it the same as a paid rate and use any tactics (if necessary) to try to get an upgrade (precontact request, upgrade request at the front desk, etc)
