Starwood Preferred Guest - Early Arrival in NZ ever a problem?

Has anybody ever had a problem checking in early to the Sheraton Auckland? My flight arrives at 6 AM so I figure after customs, etc. I'll be arriving at the hotel around 8 AM and would like to check in. Anybody know if that's a problem/have they done it before? Thanks!

I've always managed (but I was booked into the Towers which isn't that full, and they have no Platinum upgrade to give). Technically they don't have to provide you a room until the check-in time in the afternoon, but if an empty room is available they will provide it (and unlike some US hotels, the empty rooms are made up and ready for occupancy). If you really require this, the hotel is cheap enough that you could book the previous night and it would guarantee you availability of the room.
