My recent stay in Ottawa. I was confirmed at the Westin for a three day conference. I have my companies reservation fax in hand when I checked into the hotel.

I was immediately told someone had cancelled my reservation. The front desk staff then told me that the property was sold out.(Tulip Festival)

They did not offer to help or find a room. I called my company and nobody had cancelled my room. I called several other hotels but all sold out.

I walked over to the Laurier and due to FPF Gold was accomodated with a shoebox room. At least it was a room and they matched the conference rate that westin was providing.

I was very dissappointed. I use to be a starwood gold member and quickly realized why am not anymore.

I am sorry that this happened to you, stinger.

You would do yourself and everyone else a favor if you would report this situation to Hotel Customer Service. You can call them at 1-800-328-6242 or you can send them an email at customercare@starwoodhotels.com.

I just wanted to provide everyone with an update. Shortly after I complained to Starwood Customer Service I receive a phone call from the General Manager of the Westin in Ottawa. He said that they had investigated the mistake and weren't sure why it happened. He apologized and said that the next time I was going to be in Ottawa to give him a call and he would make it up to me.

I have just returned from my visit to Ottawa for a conference and let me just say that Mr. Jarvis definitely when above and beyond the call of duty. I have never been so impressed with a hotel chain in correcting a previously made error. My hat does off to the Westin in Ottawa as I had a spectacular two day stay. I only wish I had more time at the property. I will be sending letters to this same effect to Mr. Jarvis as well as Westin management.

Thanks again for making up for a mistake. I will definitely be utilizing starwood resorts in the future.
