I'm looking for a way to get two one-way awards for travel within the continental US. I am part of AA, UA, US, and DL mileage programs. Do any of these carriers offer one-way awards at less than 20-25K miles? Or two one way tickets for 25K instead of one round-trip? Travel is next July, but why not plan ahead.

Northwest used to with the FlyWrites (anyone remember them?), but not any longer.

You could try for an open jaw ticket if your itinerary meets the definition of an open jaw.

Also depending on your itinerary, stopover rules can be sometimes helpful. I think that AA is the most liberal with regards to stopovers.

Southwest offers one-way awards - all you do is tear your round-trip voucher along the perforated line and voila! You can even use the other half for a companion. It's almost too easy.

Diners Club is offering RT vouchers (or 2 one-ways) for a special rate of 24,000 DC points (or $12,000 spent) until the end of the year.

Last spring break, I needed to get to PBI from LAX with some family on an AA flight. The agent at Advantage redeemed a 25000 mile award for me and one other person for a one way. I think she broke the rules, though.
