Starwood Preferred Guest - July 4th Weekend, Washington DC, Park Hyatt or Westin Embassy Row?

So I'm going to Washington DC over July 4th weekend with my S.O. I have 2 free nights from Hyatt via their FFN promotion. I also noticed that the Westin Embassy Row has Cash & Points available. The cost would be about the same since we would have to pay for 1 night at the Hyatt.

Any opinions on these two properties? I read all the threads returned from the search on both of these properties, but I haven't seen any direct comparisons. We're going to do the tourist thing.

I am Hyatt Diamond and SPG Plat.

Thanks!

Go with the Park Hyatt--better rooms better staff. Better ammenity if you are a diamond.

Unless, of course, you want to be close to Dupont Circle--then the Westin ER is a better choice.

Check with the Hay Adams for a 4th of july rooftop party.

Best view in town for the fireworks.

In prior years, nearly every non-hotel restaurant is closed. The Park Hyatt has the better restaurant(best in any hotel in DC).
