Rudi Dec 2, 99, 4:49 am UA: no capacity controle if you 'pay' with double miles WHY2K Dec 2, 99, 6:22 am DL and AA both have awards that waive capacity restrictions and blackout dates. They are double the capacity controlled mileage awards. AA calls them AAnytime Awards. Also, I believe Southwest Airlines awards are not capacity controlled at their normal award levels. Flying Dutchman Dec 2, 99, 6:54 am Yes, I realise that a number of programs allow you to use extra miles to waive the capacity controls, but what I'm really looking for is a program that has the capacity control waiver "built-in," like with CP's Executive Platinum. If there's a seat left on the plane, CP will let you have it. dansil Dec 2, 99, 7:45 am Believe WHY2K is correct, no capacity control on Southwest. Flying Dutchman Dec 2, 99, 9:04 am Yes, Southwest awards can be real lifesavers for last-minute travel. leroy11 Dec 2, 99, 9:08 am WN is the only one I know about, but perhaps Airtran and some of the other no-frills airlines also. I think it's safe to say that none of the US airlines have this without using more miles. ------------------ Cheers. Leo. craz Dec 4, 99, 6:14 pm TWA has no capacity controlls both dom. & intl. for their PLAT> level. This is if you are using an award from your acct for miles or even if its from a promo that allows free travel. But then you have to fly TWA thats the down-side. Andrew Yiu Dec 4, 99, 11:28 pm AIR CANADA no capacity controls on award seats for both Elite and Super Elite members. Regards, Empress Flying Dutchman Dec 5, 99, 2:52 pm Thanks for the replies. |
