Starwood Preferred Guest - Comped Status

Does SPG comp status comparable to HH Gold or Diamond? I am HH Gold on the way to fast track Diamond but am considering SPG properties for conference stay.

they match diamond but it can be part of a promo, has to be a legit diamond.
