I got into a last minute alteration of my travel plans yesterday and I missed the cut off for cancelling my Starwood reservation. I know that I will be billed for the room, but do I also get points and/or stay credits?

technically, no. but, maybe a mistake will be made. i wouldn't count on it, however.

call the hotel directly and beg. you're gold, maybe they will cancel it for you.

I think you get points, but not stay/night credit.

why not call the hotel directly and see if you can work something out. perhaps if you are in the area again in a short time they can arrnage sometime

I'd definitely call or fax the hotel. I've had pretty good luck in getting them to give me points and credit (sorry, william) AND sometimes they've even offered a complimentary upgrade on a future stay.
