Planning on going to Italy next year with our two kids (12,14) and I have seen posts all over the map about the number of people in a room policy in Italy (Rome, Venice). Can 4 make it in one room? Are 2 rooms (ouch) the ONLY way this can be done? I have heard stories about steep charges for a rollaway, and others have said that if there are 4 in a room they will charge you for another room...and the stories go on and on. Anyone have any light to shed on the topic (I can sense "upgrade me" coming as I type).

Use Orbitz or Expedia to search. Theu show a few in VCE. Not many. Check the hotel Vivaldi. They have rooms for 4 (Quad). Nice hotel, just down the street from the Danieli.

If you want to save money and don't mind a 30 minute bus ride, stay at the Sheraton Padova. Rooms are small but you can get 2 much cheaper than 1 in Venice. Nice breakfast buffett included. Bus stops right out front and goes to Venice every hour or so. Also, the hotel has free shuttle service into Padova.
