For a May stay. The opinions here seem to narrow it down to either the Park Lane or the Belgravia with the Park Tower third (due to 'tude, location and poor/non-existant upgrade reports) Both on price and policies the Lanesborough would seem a non-starter but one question there - do the 50% off coupons work? I know they don't participate in the program to the extent of giving points or awards but do they honor the discount?

Otherwise any experience using the same coupon? Given the difference between 1/2 of rack and "best available" it could save us a couple of hundred bucks.

Finally, any recent experience at either for Platinums? Good, bad, do or don't?

Apart from bringing one's own umbrella?

Said it before, I'll say it again.

Belgravia. Hands down, nice suite upgrade, no attitude, and no lies from staff.

Was at the Park Lane in Dec. Plat Concierge said upgrade chances looked great. Got there, they started checking us into a standard room. Asked about suite upgrade, was told they were full, pressed a little, she got manager. Manager looked at screen and said "no, that's a nice enough room". Went to the room, wallpaper coming off the wall, stains, view of a wall etc. Called back down, complained and they put us in the first floor "flyertalk special" suite. That room was great, location was fantastic, staff during the stay was overall superb. We ended up having a great stay, but I saw what it could have been and it wasn't pretty.
