MilesBuzz! - NWA upgrades

I am flying on NWA for New Years and was told that I could upgrade at airports that had e-center 6 hour to 20 mins before my flight. Has anyone else tried this and had success upgrading the day of their flight. Domestic flight upgrading from coach to first class.

From what, to what, on what kind of flight to where and with what type of upgrade- cert? or just status?

E-Center upgrades are (a) not free, and (b) only good on full-fare tickets.

Thanks Upgrade Me.. I knew the upgrade wasn't free but not about the full fare. My advance purchase ticket is not eligiable and now I can sleep a little longer instead of getting to the airport early to try for the upgrade.
