Starwood Preferred Guest - AF/Starwood point transfer

I'm aware that Starwood Points can be traded for Air France miles but I'm curious to know if I can trade my Frequence Plus miles for Starwood Points? I accrued a pile of miles on AF a few years back and they are getting ready to expire. No airports within 4 hours of me have Delta or AF flights so I'm trying to find another way to use them.

The only way to move points from another program into Starpoints is through Diners Club. The exchange is very bad (25,000 DC = 7,500 SPG). I don't know if there's a way from AF into Diners Club.

Some airline programs also offer hotel packages (e.g. 2 night stays @ selected Starwood properties). These packages are often very expensive (many points needed for a 2 night stay) - but could be better than the transfer with the bad exchange rate through Diners Club.
