Starwood Preferred Guest - Book @ Hotel and get bonus booking points
I recently met with the sales manager of a Westin I stay at regularly to negotiate a better rate. Success with the rate; however I had to book directly with the property.
Concern set in, no booking points!!
Sales understood my serious dilemma. A couple of anxious minutes as the sales team pondered how to handle this.
Voila- a solution. They advised, every time I book direct with the hotel they will post 500 points to my account + the amenity points when I check in. Confirmed in writing.
Good rates, lots of points.
Starwood rules!!
Now all we wait for is the fall promotion.
(How about stay 1 night - get 1 night free - MasterCard not required!!) Well no harm in dreaming until the announcement.
Take care

Maybe he stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
Great move dmgt, I have an agreement at nice 4-Points where they knows me. I book on the web to get the bonus and they drop my rate to an agreed upon rate at check in. They have the rate set in their computer in case of new staff so I can refer them there. Yours sounds even better. Score. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
Hi Cattle:
Is yours the 4 points Richmond? I know you stay there from a previous post.
If yes, I am now getting almost the same rate at downtown properties (October through May)+ 500 amenity points instead of 250 + Club Lounge etc.
Let me know if you would like information.
Regards,
Me also in Calgary
NB - It is meant to snow in Calgary tonight -travel has its advantages!

dmgt,
Thanks for the offer but most of my BC business keeps me out of Vancouver. Its another property but I'm pretty sure I could get you a great rate at the interior location I'm refering to.
