Unfortunately I was - last night I actually dreamed about checking into a hotel, and checking on whether the rate qualified for Starpoints. I was told yes - 790 for my $79 rate.

All I can say is I must be sick. I better take a vacation from Starpoints or I may be haunted for life.

I guess you need some R&R. Perhaps a stay at the Sheraton? lol

Were you perchance, in the old Westin Premier program?

So, what's the point? A 7K Starpoint award generally gets the same type of hotel as a HHonors 25K or even 30K award, so the ratio pretty much holds. Maybe 10 points per dollar seems like more, but if it gets you the same redemption as 3 points per dollar [granted for Gold and Plat members], it means little. Starwood's 500 point bonus for web booking is "worth" more than HHonors' 1K bonus, and for Plats, the 500 point bonus can be worth more than the 50% Diamond bonus.

Maybe you can start dreaming about more interesting or useful things tonight?

Maybe he could dream that shareholder posted a nicer reply to his whimsical message. Or maybe Lurker could pass his dream on to those who create the promotions.
