Starwood Preferred Guest - Four Points by Sheraton

I'm a Hilton Gold and just received my SPG Gold. While I'm very familar with Hilton hotels, I have no idea what to expect at any Starwood hotels.

I have a trip coming up in Rochester and thought of trying out my new Gold status. Does anyone recommend or have any comments about the Four Points by Sheraton at Rochester Riverside? I currently have reservations at the Homesuites in Rochester near the airport and being familar with the product I'm pretty sure what to expect. What do you all recommend? What type of quality is the hotel, room upgrades availability, etc...

Can't respond specifically to Rochester.
Overall, I'm happier with Hilton/Doubletree -- for consistency's sake.
The Four Points at Waterbury, CT was a new & quality property ... but recently closed. By comparison, the Four Points at Natick, MA is a Ramada with a facial & some nail polish. Noisy alongside-the-highway location with a cheesy strip mall next door, postcard-sized pool, joke of an exercise room, bizarre remodeled layout that's just not useful.
