I need to stay two nights (Sat & Sun) near SFO next month - preferably somewhere which has a free shuttle from the airport. There seem to be 4 choices: Westin (stayed there before - it's OK, but nothing special), two Sheratons and a Four Points. The best price I can see is US$115 per night.

Any thoughts on which is best or how to get good rates (I am SPG Platinum)?

Thanks in advance.

You may want to try priceline. I recently got a weekend stay at the airport Hyatt for $40 per night. I have seen that the Westin and Hyatt frequently appear in that price range for weekends stays. Biddingfortravel.com has more info on this approach.

Westin SFO has a Endless Weekend rate of $99.00 per night.

I even found a Friday night rate at the SFO Westin for $97.

Make sure to clear the SET number box and check the 'leisure rates' box.

Thanks for the suggestions - I am really going to be struggling this year to maintain even Gold on Starwood so I really need to be certain of using them (so Priceline is out). At the moment I'm considering staying one night in the Westin and one in the Sheraton just to get two stays.

The Four Points is my new favorite (but for the beds). I've stayed there about 5 times since it opened.

I found a $99 rate for the SFO Westin for a Tuesday-Thursday stay on Quikbook, and SPG matched it (lowest rate on their site $229). So that is for $90 after the 10% discount. This was for a "king deluxe room, bay view."

If you're willing to nab a screen shot and fax it in, and if Quikbook still has the rate, you could do it that way.

Thanks again - I have now reserved both nights at the Westin online at $99 (Endless Weekends) - they have Heveanly Bed so that should be good.

I've gotten rooms on Priceline at the Westin SFO for $37. At that price, I could care less about points.
