Hi,
I have a reservation confirmed at a certain International property. If I want to change the date to a diffrent friday at The SAME hotel may I make this change directly with the hotel? Are they equipted to alter a non -rev stay?

The hotel can probably change the date of the reservation, but they can't change the date the award is sent to them.
It is better to do this with the Customer Contact Center because the award needs to be changed as well. If you don't, you could arrive to no award having been sent to cover your stay.

William,
I would be pushing back, not up my date of stay? Does this mean that I would be in the clear , with no danger of getting stuck with the bill?

Not necessarily. It's better to call us to change the date of the award and the reservation. I just did one of these for someone with a multiple itinerary. Man, what a train-wreck. Made harder, no doubt, by the fact that I haven't made an award reservation since Moses parted the Red Sea. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

I bet back then the platinum amenity was made of platinum. (Unrealistic??? Alaska Airlines gave little gold ingots away until the mid '80s). Were the statements carved in stone and brought down from the top of a mountain? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Well, if you ever had to make a reservation before the Graphic User Interface (GUI) came into vogue, you would have thought tablets of stone was an improvement. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
