Starwood Preferred Guest - Rome Italy Lower Price?

The Westin and St Regis in Rome are both quoting around $500/night for a mid-week stay in late May. Neither are accepting the ever elusive 50% off coupon. Does anyone know of any specials at either of these hotels? If not, any other suggestions for a decent Rome hotel (other brands ok).

I have had good luck with getting half off the St. Regis in exchange for 1500 points. You might give that a try.

Bigshaker, how about staying using points? If you use the Inside Flyer promo it should cost you about $240 a night.

Did you try the Entertainment Book 50% off rate?

I have had a hotel not have availability for the SPG50, but will accept the Entertainment Book 50%, and sometimes the Entertainment rate is even cheaper!
