Starwood Preferred Guest - Shame on the Sheraton Bal Harbour!

I just tried to use a promo code (BHRDM1) and was told no rooms were available at this rate for May 1st and May 2nd. As it turns out, the fine print states that this rate is not available for Saturday arrivals, and the res agent I spoke to at the Bal Harbour stated that all reservations for arrivals during the week had been "mistakenly" blocked by the hotel. So what looks like a great promo, 149 at the Bal Harbour with breakfast doesn't really exist. This feels like a serious subversion of the promo and a discrete act of bad faith. I think it's called bait and swith since the rooms that the promo advertises at 149 are 2 to 3 times that online and if you call the hotel.

Shame on the Bal Harbour.

"bait and swith"...was Elmer Fudd working the front desk?

What is the promotion code "BHRDM1" for?

Use Priceline. Bid on a "Resort" hotel in the Miami Beach area, and you'll likely get the Bal Harbor (the other resort hotel seems to be the Fontaineblue Hilton).

I did this for a stay in mid May, and got the Bal Harbor for $60/night.

Ditto the Priceline comment above. I'm staying May 3-5 for $60/night in the North Tower.
