I know this has been discussed in prior years, but I wanted to confirm whether this time around, Caesars Palace in Las Vegas participates in the Starwood Free Fridays and Saturdays promotion, both for earning and redemption.
Thanks in advance, William. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Yes. Caesars Palace is participating in Free Weekends as far as redemption and earning is concerned.

I had no problems getting a free weekend last August. The trick is to book at least 1 month in advance

I used my last free weekend last year at Caesers. They were sold out, but I spoke with the Plat concierge who called Caesers and got them to release another room for me.
I tried to redeem points for 4 WEEKnights at the end of May and was told no way. They must have very few rooms that are available to SPG as I thought that 2.5 months out would be plenty of time.

When dealing with any of the major hotel/casinos in Las Vegas, you have to keep in mind that a large portion of rooms on any given night are set aside for purposes other than regular bookings: at many properties, about a third of the rooms are set aside for package deals, a third for casino guests, and
a third for regular guests. So, a property could have 100's of empty rooms, and still be unwilling to sell one to the general public on their web site or over the phone, if they are being held for casino guests. I would imagine that the "capacity free" rooms at Caesars for SPG awards only come out of the inventory available for sale by the general public.

Just spent two nights at Caesars Las Vegas(checked out Friday, March 29), and the points and stay credit have already posted to my account! And I'm two nights closer to the Free Fridays award. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
Very impressive how quickly Starwood posts stays and Amex charges -- usually within a few days.

I recently was able to book a weekend in April. Calling Starwood, they said no rooms - but I was able to book a room on Caesar's website - then call Starwood with the details and have it converted to a free room.
I just did a check on a couple weekends in April and May http://www.caesarspalace.com/bookres_index.html and found them available.
