Anyone else have this problem? SeeYa Mar 18, 02, 7:59 pm Nope. Works fine for me. What does Starwood say? bodie Mar 19, 02, 7:56 am Starwod told me to contact AM Ex, I did. They have no idea and said they'll look into it. I'm curious to see if anyone else had this problem the last two months. V60t Mar 19, 02, 9:04 am No problem, and I am new to the SPG AMEX. Have you called AMEX and attached your starwoods account to it? They might have it attached to the accoun that came with AMEX not the SPG account you're viewing. pmv Mar 19, 02, 2:15 pm I'm having the same problem. Starwood has asked that I call AMEX, as the Starwood records show that I SHOULD be receiving points/etc. To date (since Jan) I've not received ANY points (for $ spent OR bonus points for SPG stays) OR the leisure certificate. I'll keep all posted. pmv Mar 19, 02, 2:29 pm After calling four different numbers, then FIVE transfers (with accompanying periods on hold) a representative finally told me that my oints had been rejected because they had a bad SPG # for me! (supposedly) this has been corrected on the spot. Time will tell.... pmv Mar 19, 02, 2:45 pm It just keeps getting better.... seems that AMEX will (in the next three days) transfer points based on my purchases, but that "Starwood issues the bonus points and leisure certificate". So far I've spoken to several different folks at Starwood but no luck .... I'll keep plugging ... "AMEX is responsible for posting the bonus points". My plan now is to let this be for a few days and see what happens now that they've got the correct SPG number. Maybe things will work automatically ..... pitflyer Mar 19, 02, 3:04 pm I've had no problems, been an SPG Amex holder for about a year and a half now. My points usually post about 3-4 days after the statement closes. I have received several 50% off certs since I believe they had some trouble with their mailing company and they kept sending me more 'welcome to the new AMEX card' letters w/ the certs. bodie Mar 19, 02, 6:20 pm I was finally told today by AM EX customer service that they found the problem. I recieved 1,000 bonus points for using the new Starwood card at a Starwood hotel when my old ITT Sheraton card expired. Somehow, after they added the 1000 points to my SPG account, someone at AM EX reversed the point transfer and I "owed" AM EX 1000 points, that's why I was not recieving points into my SPG account.I was told that my points should show up in about 7 days. Nine out of ten times, the problem has to be fixed on their end. Glad to see that this worked out for you. Best regards, William R. Rather impressive IMO, since Membership Rewards points seem to be held *forever* by AMEX, not only after statement closes, but seems substantially long even after payment posts. |
