Have any Plats stayed at the two Sheraton properties in French Polynesia? I'm heading out on Sunday and was hoping to hear how they treat Plats? I'm paying the most expensive rack rate in Moorea (b/c my wife insisted on not taking a chance on missing out on the deep overwater bungaloo) but on a cheapo rate in Tahiti.

Im very interested in hearing the results for these resorts also - I am looking to book those hotels for my honeymoon - a garden bungalow just wont cut it for a special night - so an upgrade would ROCK!!

The Sheraton Tahiti doesn't have bungalows. But it's a nice property, not far from the main town (Papeete). A bunch of us flew in from Honolulu on a 5 hour delay, arriving at the hotel at about 3am. The desk staff was eagerly awaiting our arrival and had OJ and snacks out for us. Our keys were all ready and they handled the check-ins of about 20 guests in a very short time.

While I don't know if they have 'suites', they gave us a very nice room facing the water/pool and recognized my Platinum status.

I did not go to Moorea, and the Bora Bora property was not yet open. From where it sounds like it will be, though, I don't know that I would stay there. It's kind of out of the way. But then again, so is Bora Bora!

Consider the Intercontinental Beachcomber. It's a more convenient location to the town, restaurants (like Bloody Mary's - part tourist trap, part legendary), and recreational activities.

Send me an email and I'll send you some pics of the Shearton Tahiti and even some Bora Bora ones to wet your whistle.
