Starwood Preferred Guest - Too soon for June in Vancouver?

Looking to spend some quality time before a cruise just booked for Alaska this June - sailing from YVR the third weekend in June.
The Wall Centre shows no availability, the others only corp rates - no weekends, no best availables, etc. Is it to early and the widest range of rates hasn't yet been loaded or is something going on then (roughly 20th to 24 June) or is Vancouver just so darn popular when the sun shines late into the night?
Read a lot of reviews here - any most recent Platinum upgrade/amenity pats or pans for either the Westin Grand or the Suites d' Soleil? Second tier choice would be the Bayshore.
As ever, thanks in advance for your candid comments.

Did you try the WESTIN Bayshore... very close to the cruise terminal...which is located at the Pan Pacific Hotel.
The Westin Bayshore, is next to the famous and beautiful "Stanley Park"....and right on the water overlooking the North Shore Mtns.
Vanc. is a VERY beautiful city... but I am a bit biased...smile
Don't forget your umbrella though... we rust, don't tan here. Seriously, I think you will not find fault with this gorgeous city

Those dates are indeed a very busy time for YVR, but I can't imagine all 750 rooms at the Wall Ctr being booked up already. Did you try calling the reservations line?
It's also the start of summer holidays too while the cruise season gets into full swing. The Wall Ctr will house most of the convention/tour groups/cruise people; all congregating in their tiny check-in lobby.
All Starwoods in YVR are incredible, so can't go wrong. Weather 'should' be nice by then.

I am actually using the 'business centre' in the Wall Centre right now. All rooms supposed to have free Internet access, but it does not seem to be working now, and tech guys gone for weekend. Rant off.
Anyway - this is a nice place. Its definitely a 'business' hotel though. Great rooms, but no real service amenities. Also 1 or 2 of the restaurants/bars seem to be closed down (lack of business?). Bottom line, nice place, but look around.
Having just made the hike over to Stanley Park - and its wonderful, even on a 40 degree F day - I can suggest trying to stay at the Westin just for proximity to more of the action.
Last thing - this is my first time in YVR. This city is breathtaking. Kudos to all who live here.
