Starwood Preferred Guest - Preferred benefits when you have two rooms booked?

Quick question: If you book two rooms, both under your room, are you entitled to upgrades/benefits for BOTH rooms (since you did pay for both) or only for one? IE Would I get two platinum amenities, etc?
Or because Starwood thinks I can only be in one room (I'll show them -- I'll sleep in the doorway of two adjoining rooms, hah!) I only get preferred benefits for one of the rooms?
Starwood Lurker -- just curious what official policy is, and anyone else, what has really happened in this situation.
Thanks.

I was just wondering the same thing...
and in addition, does anyone know if you get credit for 2 stays if you book 2 rooms for the same dates?

From the Starwood T&C:
4. Starpoints can only be earned for amounts actually paid with respect to Eligible Charges. Starpoints cannot be earned in conjunction with complimentary, barter or award stays. Starpoints can be earned for eligible incidental charges paid for during these stays. If you are a registered guest, you may receive Starpoints for Eligible Charges on up to three rooms (i.e., your room plus two others) if all such rooms are registered in your name and you personally settle all room charges upon checkout. Multiple rooms on the same stay count as only one "stay" in order to earn elite levels of membership and for threshold bonuses and promotions.

Thanks pitflyer, the best way to answer your question is to say that the Platinum amenity is for the Platinum member, not for the rooms he may be holding. Ergo, one per Platinum member. However, I know of several members who posted here (previous to the Platinum amenity of choice program) that they were able to get Platinum amenities in both the rooms they had reserved. This all depends upon the generosity of the hotel, but Starwood Preferred Guest allows them to give one per Platinum member per stay.
SeeYa has already responded correctly to uschpr's question.

I recently booked two separate rooms on two occasions: once in the San Cristobal Tower and once in the Sheraton Santiago (which are really the same hotel). On both stays I received credit for both rooms as I complied with the stated conditions. Both times, one room was upgraded to a suite and the other was upgraded to a higher category than reserved. The people at the hotel(s) are wonderful and the accomodations are outstanding.

So if booking 2 rooms, are both rooms eligible for an upgrade?

NO, the upgrade is for the Platinum member whose name is on the reservation.

You're definitely only eligible to have one room upgraded if you're a platinum, as William has pointed out. In fact though, I have gotten 2 and 3 upgraded rooms virtually every time I ever booked that many rooms. I only booked 3 once, but have done 2 quite a few times and honestly cannot remember a single instance where both rooms were not upgraded. If there was any instance it was at a 4Points, but even thee I've gotten 2 upgrades (to corner rooms on high floors or something). What the upgrade was has varied a lot, from 2 identical suites, to 2 very different suites, to a suite on a top or club floor with an upgraded room next to it, etc. One thing important is I do NOT request adjoining rooms. In many cases when we get 2 suites, they are far apart which means the kids are a long way away. If I wasn't comfortable with that, I'd ask for adjoining rooms, but since adjoining suites are rare this would reduce likelihood of getting 2 suites.
But I NEVER count on ANY of the rooms being upgraded--I hope they will, and they usually are, but its not guaranteed so I wouldn't want to rely on 1 or 2 rooms being upgraded if I really needed the space--I'd book extra rooms as needed.
