I know a couple of threads have been posted in the past on Vegas, But I thought I would create a thread with a different tact.

How many Platinum's and or Gold’s have been upgraded in the past Year or so at a Starwood Property on the strip in Vegas?

What day of the week were you upgraded?

What room type were you upgraded to?

What room type was in your original reservation?

Thanks FT’ers

PS. I am posting this thread in Hilton as well so that I can get a feel for whether Starwood or Hilton will give me the best chance at upgrading

I think the overall impression has been that status means little in Las Vegas with any of the big chains... it's all about your bankroll and how much you drop at the tables or slots http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I got upgraded into the Palace Tower by the one Starwood employee working the front desk at Caesers.

Agreed with Pitflyer.
I've stayed at both Hilton and Starwood properties ... only Hilton gave an u/g once (to top floor, slightly larger room). No suites nothing fancy. Those ARE for the high rollers/casino revenue generators.

So Far it looks like Hilton does give upgrades pretty regularly for Diamonds in Vegas.

Anyone else have experience from a SPG Platinum or Gold Viewpoint?

I got upgrade to a "Petite Suite" in the Tower at Caesar's on an award stay as an SPG Platinum. I called ahead to the Platinum Concierge before I boarded the plane (this was pre 9/11, I rarely speak to a "real" platinum concierge these days) and she called Caesar's "ahead" of my arrival and all was set.

There are no Starwood properties in Las Vegas.

Caesars has a fairly close relationship with Starwood, though. Although they claim they don't upgrade based on Starwood status, there are many reports of receiving upgrades. Their Palace Tower Petite Suites are among the best rooms in town.

Hello FTers,

I agree completely with Quiet Lion completely. I had a very positive experience at Caesars in late Nov. as I got the second nicest room that I have ever gotten on business travel. I asked for a Palace Tower room at checkin and got a great room in the Palace Tower. Two large bathrooms (one had a "really funny water fountain that you had bend way down to drink out of") with a room approx. 30' x 20', a wet bar, large sofa, two large upholstered chairs, and frig.

I was staying on an internet rate of $69 per midweek night with a $25 food credit. I am Gold and the points posted promptly. Staff was very helpful. Overall, a great visit.

Cheers,
