Starwood Preferred Guest - using coupons w/ the new Plat promos...

Right now I am more of a HH guy, but was comped into SPG Gold... please, don't kill the messenger http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Would it be reasonable to assume that you could not use UA/AA 50% coupons and still get those bonus miles? Or, is this the kind of promo where you have to practically buy rack-rate.

Not sure what bonus MILES you refer to. For *wood, as long as you paid a portion of room revenue and receive starpoints, it will count as a stay and eligible for whatever SPG promotion you are entitle to.

I mean "points" or whatever SPG calls them

The answer is Yes. UA/AA 50% stay qualifies for starpoints and will count toward elite status. Hence also count towards target promotion.
