Starwood Preferred Guest - Westin Salishan Lodge-Gleneden Beach OR

I'm considering a quiet weekend getaway at this property but know very little about it. Any experiences from anyone who has stayed at this property?

Had to add a little to my earlier post...
I really enjoy this property and will definitely be going back. I'm SPG Plat + have received upgraded rooms and amenities every stay here without having to speak up. This is one of my favorite places to go unwind at. Make sure to enjoy the deck after dark ... you'll have a great view of the stars. Enjoy!

Thanks to all for the great responses - this place sounds absolutely wonderful. I just booked my "Free weekend" there for next month. Now if only the Stephanie Inn would become a Starwood property, I'd never leave the Oregon coast for my "can't take the Arizona heat - gotta get away now!" excursions. Thanks for the help.

Rooms are very spacious. All with Gas burning fire places. We just came back from a free weekend stay and enjoyed the property immensly. Our room came with a whirlpool bath! Great views of Siletz Bay and very quiet location despite its proximity to Hwy 101. Gleneden Beach is a long sandy beach less than 1/2 mile from the lodge. We went for seveal walks on the beach and saw hardly a soul.

I agree it is a nice property and I enjoyed my stay there, but I’m not as overwhelmingly enthusiastic as the previous posts. The resort is indeed very close to the highway and I was very aware of it in my room. But I would still return…

I had a fabulous dinner there a few years back but have not yet had the pleasure of staying there. However, that omission will be remedied when I show up on Friday, September 14 for my free weekend. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
