BoSoxFan45 Aug 16, 01, 10:02 am Apparently, my story and those of others haven't dissuaded you from wanting to spend your money there. First, I would wait until there is a single positive review of this property. I've not seen one on this board or anywhere else yet. Second, if they keep it up like they did last weekend -and continue to do- I still haven't gotten any written apology or compensation from them-depite promises to ther contrary. I am now convinced that THEY DO NOT CARE about regular guests. Maybe eventually they will. I suspect that they will be forced to reduce rates. Right now I suspect it will be hard to find any- as it was booked for every weekend through October as of mid-July. If things are still as bad, or half as bad as I and others have experienced, they will have to lower rates. All things being equal, I would stay at the RC there for more money, regardless of their Starwood affiliation - as platinum recognition is virtually non-existent, and I haven't seen any points for incidentals yet, either. So far as I'm concerned, they are a-participating property, other than that you can spend your awards there. No recognition, no response to SPG concierges, and like pulling teeth to get them to post a measly 800 or so points for incidentals. So in short- Not right now. But just wait. I'm very confident that there will be. The location alone will make it hard for them to compete with the Ritz in the long-term, even with perfect service, and occupancy and rates will have to decline. I would be less inclined to rip this place if and when they make me satisfied- which is getting more unlikely and difficult each day they ignore me. But even if they comped me from now to eternity, and treated me like a king, I could not in good conciensce tell anyone that the location can realistically compete with that of the Ritz.
