W is very nice ...but if you are going to Atlanta for pleasure -not really centrally located. Restaurant Savu is great.

I haven't stayed at the W, but have stayed at the Westin (downtown) the Sheratorn (colony sq.) and the Westin (airport). Believe it or not, the Airport is the best of the 3, but nowhere near where you want to be. I'd pick the Colony Sq. over the Westin Peachtree in an instant, because while the Colony Sq. doesn't reach (or even see the heights) of opulent splendor, the Westin is a huge understaffed abomination of a property.

The airport area is not a bad one to stay in in Atlanta--just have the shuttle driver drop you at ground transportation and hop on the MARTA.

I've stayed at the W Atlanta, Westin Perimeter and Colony Square Sheraton and I personally like the Westin Perimeter the best just becuase i like their furniture and style better. Although their room are the smallest among the 3, i still prefer it, and the conference suite is very nice too!!

the service and rooms condition at W atlanta is like a roller coaster ride. sometimes i get a clean room with good water pressure, but sometimes i got a bad room with torn carpet, un-adjustable heat/air-con and the sink won't stop dripping. and they really need to re-do their elevators, parking lots and the bldg's exterior.

and for the colony square sheraton, i always get the big suites between 20-25 floor, it's very nice, rooms have a lot of space, good water pressure and decent beds, one bad thing is that the toilet flushes SO LOUD that everyone on the floor knows.

that's my .02 cents
