On www.sheraton.com, (http://www.sheraton.com,) I was making a reservatin for the Sheraton Wall Centre in Vancouver.
I was quoted in Canadian dollars all the way and after I finalised it, I got confirmation, both the screen and email, rated in U.S. dollars.
A nice trick.

All my Starwood reservations have always been quoted in local currency. I don't think that they can guarantee a rate in other currencies due to the exchange rate variation.
I would call Starwood reservation and verify the rate. I have done the same last week for a reservation I have for next month at the Westin Trianon Versailles. I had written down a rate in USD (my mistake probably) and when I called that they confirmed that the rate was actually in Euro.

I believe it depends on the country. China, Thailand, Bali, etc are quoted in USD. SW in Canada always quotes in CND for me in the past.

As it turns out, there was a problem with the way a rate plan was entered by the hotel. Thanks to Chiangi for his/her alertness and willingness to cooperate with our Internet coordinators. The hotel has been informed of the changes that need to be made to correct the currency to Canadian dollars.

Starwood Lurker, so it was a guy from SPG who contacted me via the email address? I have not received any follow-up on the message, including the reservation confirmations, I sent back to the guy. So I emailed the hotel to verify the rate but I have not heard from them, either.

The hotel has replied and generously offered to honor the CAD rate. I was also quoted a similar rate at the Westin Grand but since I prefere the Wall Centre, I think I am going to take the offer at the WC. Certainly, the Westin Grand is not a bad hotel. I have stayed at both.
