This weekend My friend and I are going to Atlanta to pick up a car I bought... and DRiving back to SF (Am I crazy?!) We are flying free on UAL on buddy passes. We will either get there at 6:21pm, and stay the night or if we go via DEN 3pm. And we will start the drive to Kansas City. We plan to stay in Kansas, Colarado via hwy 70, and Salt Lake or Reno depending on how we drive. I want to know the best starwoods to stat at upder $100 in each location. I will use the SPGWE or Gov rates. I wanted to stay at the St Regis Aspen but to get $99 I have to stay on Saturday, which is when I am flying into Atlanta http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif So input on hotels would be great. Right now I am looking at 4points Kansas City $49, sheraton steamboat spings $55 (2 CO westins are S/O http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif And I guess a sheraton in SLC. Input would be appreciated.
Thanks
Ryan

Ryan,
If you're on I-70 in Colorado, you'll love the drive west of Vail through Glenwood Springs. This has got to be the prettiest stretch of highway I've ever driven.
You have the river, the railroad, the mountains, all as you drive through the canyon. I wish I could come with you.
Stop at Glenwood Springs and go to the pool. Someone help me out with the name. After you exit the highway, make a right. It's right there. All natural springs.
Have a great drive.

Avoid the 4 Points in KC at ALL COSTS! Unless you only want to spend about 6 hours there sleeping, it is pretty bad.
I usually stay at the Westin Crown Center (perhaps until this past weekend...see other post on topic), and their gov rate always tends to be around $85.00.
If you have some time to spend in KC, spend it on the Country Club Plaza. There is a Sheraton Suites there, but they are pretty proud of themselves...I have never received a rate below $125 there..it's usually $165 plus.
My sister was just at the new Westin outside Denver (can't think of the name) and she gave it a big thumbs up! Also, my father really likes the Westin Downtown at Tabor.

Sheraton Apt SLC is a glorified motel that is far from anything (except the airport) and there are no Starwoods in Reno. Try the Reno Hilton. Usually you can get in there for $49 or so.
