Starwood Preferred Guest - Sheraton Desert Oasis -- Warning!!!!
I recently stayed at the Sheraton Desert Oasis on a business trip to PHX. This has to be the worst Sheraton that I have ever stayed at in my life. The rooms were nice but they had some major problems:
1) My room was infested with fire ants!
2) Room was never cleaned by room service in the two days that I stayed there even when I called the front desk
3) Staff in general had no clue as to anything
Hopefully it was a one time experience but just a warning.

Hmmmmmmmm. I would venture a wild guess 1), 2) and 3) are somewhat closely related.

Thanks for the warning. I find that many of the Starwood properties in Arizona are actually not up to par with what I expect from them such as the one in Chandler, Mesa, and the 4 points in Phoenix.
Never stayed at the Phoenician but am confident this would be nice. They should renovate the other properties or seek to buy hotels in better locations.

Hmmm... I've enjoyed consistently good service at the Sheraton Crescent, Sheraton Mesa, Four Points Barcelo Phoenix MetroCenter and the Sheraton Phoenix Airport.
Really no major complaints.
At all four hotels, I've always been given rooms which were in good shape, well appointed and well maintained. Location is of course dependent upon where you want to be for what you want to do.
I do agree that the San Marco in Chandler is disappointing... and looks better in photos than in person. While I received a unique plat amenity (several types of fruit using a cowboy hat as a fruit bowl), the suite furnishings were not of the same quality as the other three hotels. More problematic, my suite overlooked a residential subdivision which appears to be in transition, and was quite noisy at night from frequently passing cars with drivers who felt that they should provide music for the entire neighborhood to hear.

Foley, this is actually a Starwood Vacation Ownership property, and while they do not have room service, there is no excuse for some of the problems you experienced - housekeeping included. You would be doing everyone a favor by contacting Corporate Services.
You can contact them by calling 1-800-328-6242 if you are in the U.S. or Canada. Outside this area, call the Account Services Center closest to you (the number is on the reverse of your card) and ask to be transferred to Corporate Services. You may send an e-mail to Corporate Services by accessing whichever branded web site is appropriate and clicking on 'Contact Us'. Your information will be forwarded to them. Please give as many details as possible as well as a way for them to contact you. Letters may be either mailed or faxed to the following address or fax numbers:
