Finally a Sheraton Card that gives 1 point for purchases and 3 points for all Starwood Stays. I got it posted on my Sheraton Amex statement today. My hat goes off to Klaus and Hoyt for doing this. This becomes immediate and you do not need to get another card. Considering Hilton gives 5 per Hilton stays on their card, and Marriott gives 3-5 for their properties on their card, this is a great step forward for starwood. I plan to use it exclusively, especially since I can use it at their wonderful properties or convert the 20,000 points to 25,000 miles.

I have a hard time believing this is the "big news" about the new Sheraton card. I think the 3 points for Starwood stays refers to what you get if you stay at Sheraton and charge the stay to the current AMEX card (i.e., you get 1 point for each dollar spent plus 2 points per dollar as an SPG member).
Had the same thought! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

No, it was a highlighted notice on my American Express Statement stating this new offer. Why would they say you get 1 point plus another 2 for staying there, when we already were getting that? I also did call to confirm my Mexico City stay at $2,035. She said the computer missed it and would add another 4,070 points. I find with my Hilton Amex and Marriott Visa the bonus points Internationally rarely post to the card you must call the bank. No problem for that large of a bonus I call.

Nothing on the AMEX site mentioning otherwise. I think it is still the same offer. 1 pt from the card and 2-3 as a Preferred Guest member.
I'll look at my statement when I get it in two weeks.
I haven't gotten this month's AMEX statement in the mail yet, but the points did post to my SPG account today. Still 1 point for each dollar spent-- I did have a Starwood stay charged to the credit card.

GOt the statement. No change from policy. It is the regular wording on earning 3pts at Starwood vs 1 for purchases. I believe the rep milesrus spoke to was misinformed.
