Starwood Preferred Guest - Remaining an active member...

I was reading the terms and conditions and it said you need one point earning stay in a 12 month period to remain an active member. I phoned the Preferred Guest line and was told that by transferring miles in from Click Rewards, my account will stay active for a year.
Can anyone confirm this?
