Starwood Lurker
Dec 1, 00, 3:05 pm
Greetings FTers,

It is with great pleasure that we introduce Starwood Lurker. As many of you know, Jae Knowlton has been “lurking” on the Starwood Forum for a while now, representing Starwood Preferred Guest Member Services. In an effort to better serve our friends on Flyer Talk, we are expanding into all aspects of Starwood Hotels and Resorts customer service, not limiting ourselves to Starwood Preferred Guest postings.

Along with our new screen name, we also have a new e-mail address that is exclusively for use by FTers. That address is mailto:Guest.Forum@StarwoodHotels.comGuest.Forum@S tarwoodHotels.com</A> . When writing to this address, we ask that you make the subject line of your e-mail "Guest Forum". Starwood Lurker is a member of Starwood’s E-Communications team. We urge each of you to use this new e-mail address when corresponding with us. For those of you that have been corresponding with Jae directly, he will be glad to continue assisting your needs. It has been a pleasure serving you and we look forward to continuing to serve you in the future.

Respectfully yours,

Starwood Preferred Guest and Starwood E-Communications Teams

Great news!

I just used this contact to inquire about some missing stays already faxed to their service center and and another question. Fast, professional reply and action. A class act. Thank you Starwood.

THIS IS PROOF OF THE POWER OF UNITED CONSUMERS!

Let's all take note of this and think twice before stabing others in the back when they post a complaint, or problem as we've all seen on many threads.

If we stay united and suportive companies will respect us, and listen to us!

i'd also like to point out that this is in stark contrast to certain airlines, who still think that the internet is filled with a bunch of cranks

um, no actually, it's filled with your best customers

thanks starwood!

Starwood has once again set a new standard in customer service with a sublime cyber-move that fuses a keen understanding of customer needs with an ever evolving web technology. Would get a definite vote for Best Customer Service at the 2000 Freddie Awards! More power to Starwood and, at the risk of using an oxymoronic phrase, thanks for reactively lurking! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Service is why Starwood is my preferred chain and why Hilton is not even thought I'm a Starwood Platinum and Hilton Diamond.

Catman, you are the cat's meow. If everything falls into place my wife & I will accept your gracious invitation and join the festivities in NYC at the end of March.

My transition back to full-time lurker is almost complete. William has considerable customer service experience and will be a strong advocate for both Starwood and its customers. I'm only an email away, though, for my many FlyerTalk friends with whom I've corresponded in the past. Thanks to everyone for making this one of the most interesting and rewarding responsibilities in my professional life.

I think what it boils down to is that the hotel chains have probably gotten word of the FlyerTalk web site. I know that Hilton has Adam Burke who "lurks" on the Hilton thread. It's a no brainer that all of us who frequent hotels or airlines can send new business or drive it away by word of mouth. This is a definite positive for Starwood and what a great benefit for those of us who converse on FT.

I am a Hilton & Hyatt Diamond as well as a Starwood Platinum - Starwood is the Best HANDS DOWN! They have the most class, best service and without a doubt the best hotels - Especially 'W'. We spent a week in Italy (I was a Gold then) this past April at three different properties (Rome & Florence - Excellsior & Milan - Principe) We were treated like ROYALTY & the rates were great.

We have had so many weekend getaways, Fridays, Weekends, etc.. My only wish is that there were more properties so that I wouldn't have to spend so many nights at Hilton.
