Starwood Preferred Guest - Special Member Events?

The last bullet point on the Starwood Membership Benefits page says.....

"Special member events exclusively for Platinum Preferred Guests."

Has anyone been invited to any special Starwood Platinum Preferred "Event"?

I think they mean hotel GM type receptions.

I don't ever remember reading about anyone posting on the board about a special platinum event. I have read though, and not sure what it is called or the exact nature of it, where frequent SPG guests are invited to tour and rate hotels, meet with executives, etc. Such activities are listed in the Flyertalk Trip Report forum....if not then in this forum.
