Suggestions - Why can't I delete my own post?

I just replied to a thread on the US board and subsequently saw that every question had already been answered.

I went to edit/delete my post and found that only forum leaders can delete posts. Shouldn't I be allowed to delete my own post since it is my post?

you can always edit your post to say something like "deleted...already answered"

The ability to delete your own posts could and sadly, likely would be abused.
