I think it's time to reevaluate the multiple boards concept. It is not working.

Particular reviews of restaurants and hotels might work in a database environment, with a few discussion threads attached.

It doesn't work to have threads default out after 5 days.... reviews should remain independently accessible apart from threads. Moderators could be tasked with ensuring that reviews were still current every six months or so (by being local, contacting locals, or paying me to go check... at least in New Orleans!)

For the rest, how many "airport" or "city" threads used to gum up our precious "miles" boards? Not very many, but the ones that did had attention paid to them. Now, niente, nada, nil, nothing.

I would suggest a large, multi-issue current discussion board, and a separate database with archived opinions about particular properties/restaurants, with its own small discussion board (with much broader, and hence usable, topics).

I don't know if the UBB software could be used for the database part, but I'm not knowledgable about that.

I do know that Dorian's old board was SPECTACULARLY more user-friendly. Wasn't it based on the same software?

Best wishes!

"Service" should be a noun, not a verb.
