For a long time, I've made it clear to all that when I'm in the office I'm perfectly happy to take the time and effort to order flowers from FTD.com via AA.com. As a result I've gotten a great many miles. It's easy (with Elite bonuses) to get over 2000 AA miles a month this way, often many more. If it's one of the deals where people chip in cash, I use my own AA credit card (and get more miles). If it's a company charge, I use the company card and still get the miles.
I strongly recommend doing this! It helps if you can act a little and look as if it is the last thing you want to do. We used to have a secretary who held on to this job (for the same reason), but when she departed I took over.
The miles usually post within 7 days. A very easy way to get a lot of miles.
