MilesBuzz! - TalkCity changed to every 7 daysView Full Version : TalkCity changed to every 7 days MilesNut Sep 25, 99, 11:48 pm The TalkCity servey was changed. MyPoints can only be earned every 7 days. http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif ffhound Sep 26, 99, 4:38 am Yes its true. At least today counted as a 'new' week so I got the 200 points but obviously tomorrow will bring no points. What a shame. There goes the trip to Europe. At least here is a little bit of good news for those interested. I have created a web page (exclusively for those in the know - namely you) as follows. http://www.tbsa.com.au/~ferrett/short.htm This page contains shortcuts to all the surveys and current point visitation opportunities. I have arranged them however in weekly, monthly and yearly order which makes life a little simpler. If anyone knows of other links to add please email me. Enjoy. BTW, can someone help me with a little coding on this page? I want each link to open up with a single click and to open the link selected with a new page but one that that has been minimised. In the words 10 clicks equals 10 minimised boxes at the bottom of the screen with my page still visible. cheers Peter MilesNut Sep 26, 99, 8:14 am Ffhound.....What about www.reel.com (http://www.reel.com) which I believe is weekly & www.springstreet.co (http://www.springstreet.co) it's every 30 days. Thank you for the great web sight. It will make collecting MyPoints more convenient for all of us miles junkies. ------------------ MilesNut ffhound Sep 26, 99, 9:06 am Thank you Milesnut I have added those links. Sorry for the rather unsophisticated page - I just wanted something quick, simple, functional and quick loading. cheers Peter MileageAddict Sep 26, 99, 9:31 am For a new window to open when you click on a link, use the following:: <A HREF="http://www.example.com" TARGET="_blank"> most likely, you are currently doing it as: <A HREF="http://www.example.com"> ------------------ Addicted to airline miles? Check out: The Airline Mileage Workshop (http://www.mileageworkshop.com) doc Sep 26, 99, 10:07 am Just visited (numer 38?). Nice job. Thanks. venkat Sep 26, 99, 10:36 am ffhound: Thanks for the webpage. I collected 10 points at the first click in your website. and I was the 50th person to do so. venkat birdyy Sep 26, 99, 2:44 pm No, say it isn't so. I've made all these grand plans. Does anyone have a tissue. birdyy Sep 26, 99, 2:55 pm ffhound, Here are a few more. Most that I'm listing don't currently have a link but they'll probably show up soon enough. Keep this list and keep checking with MyPoints. Daily: Third Age, Longevity. Monthly: Sparks, Priceline, Smart Kids, Red Cross. Yearly: Gamesville, Social Net, Net Bet, Consumer Digest, Corbis, HM Miller, Hotlinks, Efax & Hans. Here's another idea, if you haven't already thought of it. Under your profile, sign up for every available category. If you're a man sign up for all the women's categories. If you're young sign up for the other age groups, etc. You get the picture. I noticed since I changed the profiles on mine, my sisters and moms we tend to get more earning opportunities. Since they do send emails and add links to your particular page based on your profile, this seems to be the way to go. ffhound Sep 27, 99, 4:47 am Thanks Mileageaddict and Birdyy I have updated my page with Birdyy's extra links and added Mileageaddict's coding so that everything opens with a single click. Birdyy - what is the link for hhmiller? Thanks & Cheers peter MMM Sep 27, 99, 5:10 am ffhound , thanks for the HPage ! But ,.. how do I get the daily points in 'third age' and 'longevity' ? I visited the site , but got no confirmation back !?!?! Cheers MMM Hammertoad Sep 27, 99, 8:15 am Thanks for the page, ffhound! Some of those I don't remember having seen... either I'm not paying enough attention or it's because of my profile. Gotta get those 20k points before the end of the year... only 14k to go. Cheers, 'toad ffhound Sep 27, 99, 9:46 am Birdyy Thanks for the tips re changing one's mypoints preferences. I found that I had only signed up for email on one topic - namely travel. I've signed up for everything now. Can you please give us some idea of the average points earned per day as a result of being signed up to all the subjects/topics? As for my page. I am not 100% sure that all the links earn points but as Birdyy mentioned them I have added them in anyway. If anyone can help me expand/refine my list of links please let me know. BYW I was amazed to see that 150 people visited since last night. Thanks Peter bokich Sep 27, 99, 11:56 am Is that 150 people or 150 visits? Important distinction. Yet, if it's 150 people, it gives an important clue regarding the lurker/poster ratio on FT, and in particular for these mypoints.com threads. bokich Sep 27, 99, 11:57 am [dupe] [This message has been edited by bokich (edited 09-27-1999).] birdyy Sep 27, 99, 2:11 pm I need to make a little correction to my last post. Sorry about this. Third Age and Longevity are Weekly not daily opportunities. As to the number of points per day, I couldn't even give you a ball park. I just noticed that when I added my mom onto Mypoints and checked her age group (in the profile) Longevity was one of the links available to her but not to my sister myself. Long story short, you wind up getting more points I just don't know how many. Lastly, the HM Miller link. Sorry but I can't help you with that either. When it became available I clicked on it, wrote it down and have never seen it since. I'm sure it will pop up again sometime. Hope this helps. Sorry I couldn't be of anymore assistance. MilesNut Sep 27, 99, 4:41 pm Try www.bmg.com (http://www.bmg.com) I'm not sure how many points you get or how often you can get points there. ------------------ MilesNut Steve B Sep 27, 99, 7:24 pm .......I'm off to change the age group on my profile to 70-75 to see if I'm offered the Longevity points. Tino Sep 28, 99, 10:29 am You can't say that I didn't predict it. From September 9: http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/001666.html Steve B Sep 28, 99, 2:58 pm Tino....what part of this did you predict??? This didn't turn out to be a "scam".... There were no "personal questions"....The only ones who got "not even enough points to transfer" were the ones that didn't take the daily surveys....There was no free "customer service data" Hardly anyone expected this goldmine to last forever. I'm happy with the almost 5,000 Mypoints that I got and have sent for the 5,000 American Advantage miles. general45 Sep 28, 99, 6:09 pm I agree, Steve, this goldmine wasn't going to last forever and I'm greatful for the points I've earned. The good thing about talkcity is that we still get a chance to earn 190 points a week, which is not to shabby. I think this site will offer more opportunities to earn points in the future. doc Sep 28, 99, 8:33 pm Yesterdays email bonus to me was Go to talk city for 10 pts...etc as tmmyg described recently. Todays was pick a magazine and try it free for 30 days to get 200 + 10 pts= 210! Easy 210! tummyg Sep 29, 99, 3:05 am The bonusmail oppurtunities vary, based on your interests, sometimes i get 3 in a day and sometimes nothing for a week. sometimes they are just 10 points, and other times there are great offers. I have just received my second garden.com offer, buy <25 get 500, buy >$25 get a whopping 2,000 points. THey seem to offer this each "season" so those of you who signed up in aug/sept may get the fall one very soon. So anyway, we are down to 190 a week, but they are still easy, and I am happy that we can still get those easy ones. cheers giftcertificaterewards Sep 29, 99, 8:28 am I think I have found a way to get 20 points for reading some of those My Points e-mails. On some of them, they offer you 10 points for visiting the web site that is advertising on that e-mail, but they also offer you 10 points for reading the e-mail even if you don't want to goto the site. I click on both links. I don't know for sure that you get 20 points, but it is worth a try. Let me know if anyone can confirm that this works. |
