American Express Membership Rewards - MR question

I had a rather large credit last month from Cartier for over £10K (can you believe she didn't like it?!) but my MR balance has not changed. It appears that a few other credits have not been deducted from my MR account. Is this normal practice or will it just take a few weeks for them to adjust the figure down? You get your MR points credited/debited to your account a month in arrears. Hence, when the original 10k went onto the card, you would have got the points for that a month later. Same applies when credit to your statement - the balance should come off next month.
